JULY - FEAST OF SAN PAULINE

On July 12 of each year, during the celebrations of St. Paulinus, Patron of the town, is also remembered for the miracle of the Holy happened precisely 12 July 1664.
 
It is said that on this day the guns placed on the walls adjacent to the Porta S. Donato shoot were made to honor the memory of the saint but he accidentally shots were directed at the crowd that was in the area, there were neither dead nor injured and this miracle was attributed at San Paolino.
 
These days, with religious celebrations, is also organized the "Palio della Balestra" which involves representatives of terzieri of the city: S. Paolino, S. Salvatore and S. Martin.
 
The Crossbow is held in Piazza S. Martino. The crossbowmen of each terziere reach the square accompanied by a procession of people in costume and go up on the bunk 2 by 2, according to a draw. After fixing the crossbow try to hit the target, the pitcher, placed 36 meters away.
