Siena - Piazza del campo - The Palio

Heart of the city, Piazza del Campo is, for its shape, unique in the world! Post sloping, it is made in the shape of a shell and has a beautiful brick floor.

It is in this place every year on July 2 and August 16, takes place the famous Palio di Siena, a run of 10 horses ridden bareback by jockeys. Unique spectacle!
